Simply yellow

As I commented on my first entry, I like football. Well, maybe I should say I love football, or sometimes I even like it too much. I guess now you imagine when I was a child, I was playing with a football all the time, played football with my friends at school in break time, prayed for my dad to take me to see a match, etc. I'm sorry to say you're wrong! When I was six, seven, eight years old...I didn't like football at all. I didn't like playing it, and I could get asleep if I watched a match (or annoy my father every five minutes saying I was bored). My father was (and is) a Barça fan, so he tried to make me support them too, and well, I said I supported Barça, but I didn't really know almost anything about it.
Even in 1998, Vila-real, my town's team, promoted for the first time ever to 1st division. People went crazy, there were big celebrations in the street...my mother brought me to the main square where there was a big party to celebrate it, and although I didn't understand this either, I liked it. Anyway, I wouldn't like football yet. But few years later, around 2001, something changed. I started getting interested for Vila-real's scores, something I never did before. I remember Vila-real wasn't doing very well that season, and had to fight to avoid relegation. I think that fact made me get more interested. A few months later, I wasn't only looking for the scores after the matches, but watching matches on TV if I could or listening to them on the radio. I started to understand why people were so crazy about the team. In those years, Vila-real's population was no more than 45,000, and our team was in 1st division, playing against teams from big cities like Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia or Sevilla! I had to support this team, my team! But there's a fact I have to say. Maybe, from what I'm saying, you can guess I only liked Vila-real CF but not football in general...then no! I started to enjoy watching football matches even if Vila-real wasn't playing. Why did things change so fast? Today, I still don't know...I just think likes and interests change in life!
I went to see matches at El Madrigal (Vila-real's stadium) a couple of times buying ticket, and finally, in summer 2002, my parents bought me a season card.
“Wow!! A Vila-real season card!!!”. Those were my words when I saw it. I was totally delighted, and well, I still have my season card today. In all those years, I've missed only a pair league matches, same for European competition matches, and a few friendlies (yes, I even go to most summer friendly matches where the team plays for nothing). I've also gone to 6 or 7 away matches, and well...I could go on telling things about Vila-real, or anecdotes, but I think this is enough for today...But probably I'll retake this in another entry (even if all you think it's too boring! *lol *).

PS: Yes, Vila-real plays in yellow.

Unbelievable!

Well...first of all, I'm going to introduce myself a little bit. My name is Cristòfol, I'm 18 years old and I'm from Vila-real. I study the degree in Translation and Interpretation at the Jaume I University in Castelló. I have to say I love languages, learning them, speaking them...so that's the most important reason for me to be studying this degree.

About my other interests...Well, I like football (but really more watching or supporting my team than playing it, as I'm quite bad at sports *lol*) and I support Vila-real CF. Moreover, I have a soft spot for Celtic Glasgow.
I also enjoy listening to music -specially rock, some pop or ska-, travelling, and why not, I have to say I'm quite interested in politics too.

This blog is a homework for the English subject at University, so yes, it'll be always written in English... But I won't write about anything special, just about whatever comes to my mind that day :D Obviously, the title of this blog is a bit ironic, because I don't really think I'll write so "really unbelievable stuff" here -or well, maybe yes, who knows...

Now I think this will be enough for the first entry...But I'll write soon, don't worry! Haha...I think I should do some more homework now...And as I don't think any of you will do it for me *xD*, I'm definetely going now.

Bye!
